A car driver instructor is a person who is hired by a new driver who is learning how to improve their skills – often for an upcoming practical test. A car driver instructor has several tasks such as teaching new drivers the theory and techniques needed to carefully operate a car, informing them about the right traffic rules and safety driving procedures, and preparing them for the practical test on the road. A car driver instructor must possess several requirements such as obtaining a high school diploma, owning a driving license and a driving instructor license, gaining driving experience of 2–5 years, having clean driving records, passing driving instructor vision test and sometimes being at least 21 years old. A car driver instructor must also have good communication skills, patience, confidence and teaching skills. The salary of a car driver instructor varies from country to country, but in general it ranges from $15,000 to $53,000 a year depending on the experience and location of the instructor.
